Day 9 - Fasting

Day 9

Today I had a dream that I and an “anonymous” person from HopeNYC was on a trip in Hawaii. It didn’t really seem much like Hawaii at first because we were situated at the banks of a river that resembled NYC. It was just me and this person, and with no one around, we were just sitting on the sand while a stranger behind us was arranging a tent for us to stay. We were going to spend the night there, and the night was approaching quicker than I thought. Suddenly, out of nowhere we started seeing anacondas emerge from the water. We started to run and then ended up to what seemed to look like a normal street from Queens NY. Apparently the “anonymous” person from HopeNYC lived in this street and they were angry at me because of the anacondas we had just seen. Then for a brief moment we disappeared and I and the person ended up in a narrow sloped hill where anacondas were infested all around. From the top of the hill to the bottom were huge anacondas and they started coming at us. They were coming at us fast and then suddenly from both of our hands appeared a sword. We took turns standing behind each other, chopping off their heads. Then one anaconda, a very large one started to zoom its way to us. Somehow this one could jump and fly and it was approaching at a great speed. Then when it was about 3 feet away from us, its mouth opened, with huge fangs the size of a man’s arm ready to swallow us whole, I took my sword and slashed its neck! Its head fell and its body fell into a large pit below where there were thousands of anacondas. Then the pit below caught on fire and all the snakes were gone.

God has been teaching me self-discipline for the past couple days. He is teaching me how to conduct myself physically with food especially, but in my spirit as well; things that would strengthen my spirit and not degrade it; how to seek after God in spirit and in truth, and how to stop being lazy and reading his word. I can say for the past weeks I’ve been reading my bible daily and praying daily more than I ever did in the past. God is good and self-discipline is a good thing.
