Day 8
Today is the beginning of week two with the water and juice fast. The temptation this weekend was agonizing for me. With food all around and the smell of fast food and trini cuisines I couldn’t help but drool over it. Thank God for his strength though. I must say that God has been doing some great things in my spirit. It’s almost hard to explain, but I feel as if He’s bringing be closer to him in an unexpected way. What I would assume is his spirit more powerful, and literally experiencing a rushing wind and thunder in my room, but it almost feels like a heartbreaking type of closeness. It’s almost like God is revealing that his heart breaks for us when we fail him. His ability to hurt is so much greater than ours that when we commit sin and go against his law, his heart breaks. My prayer this week is that God breaks everything in my life that would hurt him; every sin, every disobedient act, every wrong in the past that I can’t even remember. I pray that he washes it all away and makes me white as snow. I also pray that he continues to strengthen me and everyone else who is participating in the fast and pours out blessings like never before.

Meditated on: Matthew 6:19-20: “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do no break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”
Today I’m praying for: **For God to Spear his people this year**
